“…In recent years, many comprehensive evaluations have been performed on the accuracy of multisatellite products in various regions [7][8][9][10][11][12] and studies have focused on the effects of hydrological applications [13][14][15][16]. Some comparative studies have reported that the latest GPM-Era high-resolution satellite precipitation products are superior to other satellite products [17]; however, their performance under various regions and climatic conditions tends to oscillate and needs further research.…”

“…It is worth mentioning that PERSIANN estimates the precipitation based on infrared brightness temperature image (as input) and artificial neural network (as a model) (Ashouri et al 2015), while CMORPH is mainly based on microwave data and only uses infrared data for transporting the microwavebased precipitation features within periods that microwave data are not available at a location (Joyce et al 2004). Because of these improvements, IMERG precipitation products (IPPs) appeared to be better than TMPA and other SPPs in many regions, for example, India (Prakash et al 2018), Pakistan (Anjum et al 2018), Brazil (Rozante et al 2018), and East Asia (Lee et al 2019).…”

“…Precipitation is an important component of the hydrological cycle [1,2]. Accurate and high-resolution precipitation data are crucial in different fields such as weather forecast, disaster preparation and prevention, and water resource management [3,4]. The quality and resolution of precipitation inputs can also significantly affect the performance of various hydrological, climatic, and atmospheric models [5].…”
