Objective: This study aimed to assess the disease conditions of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in Hubei Province during the outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) by questionnaire online and guide their self-management during this epidemic. Results: A total of 102 eligible questionnaires were included. No patient we surveyed reported a diagnosis of COVID-19. Our result showed that 67.86% of patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) and 80.43% of patients with Crohn's disease (CD) were in remission, 85.29%of patients had a good quality of life. Part of the patients (21.57%) reported their disease conditions worsening. The reduction in physical exercise was a risk factor for worsening conditions (OR=17.593, p=0.009). Some patients reported an alteration of medication regimens during the epidemic. Conclusions: The epidemic of COVID-19 might have a certain impact on many aspects of Hubei IBD patients within four weeks after the traffic control. Doctors could utilize the results from our questionnaire to guide IBD patients’ self-management. Methods: A questionnaire was designed containing the Harvey-Bradshaw Index (HBI), the 6-point Mayo Score, the short inflammatory bowel disease questionnaire (SIBDQ) and distributed to Hubei IBD patients online within four weeks of traffic control after the outbreak, it also included questions about patients’ self-reported disease conditions and their epidemiological features of COVID-19.

edical rehabilitation (MR) is a "service for participation." In Germany, the DRV (Deutsche Rentenversicherung, German Pension Insurance) is its most important funding agency. The aim of MR is "to prevent impairment on the earning capacity of insured persons or early withdrawal from professional life or to integrate them in professional life as permanently as possible" (section 9 subsection 1 of Book VI of the German Social Code [SGB VI]).A further aim of MR is to avert, eliminate, mitigate or compensate for and prevent progression of impairing chronic diseases (section 42 subsection 1, SGB IX).Anyone wishing to participate in an MR program must submit an application themselves, which the attending physician accompanies with a form-based medical opinion. The DRV reviews whether certain medical and legal requirements are met. With an approval rate of 83%, the DRV funded about 832 936 inpatient MR services for adults in 2018 (1), including 3687 services for insured persons with chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), such as Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC). The mean rehabilitation duration was 23 days. The services were usually provided in specialized facilities located far away from the usual place of residence of the patient (2).CD and UC belong to the group of disorders in which multiple areas are usually affected during periods of high disease activity (3). In addition to physical impairments, patients experience psychosocial problems, such as poor sex life, dietary restrictions, stress, or depression) (4). Such complex problems require an equally complex care approach. This is the strength of inpatient MR: It is provided by a multidisciplinary team, "all under one roof". Zusammenfassung Ziel der Studie Die Berücksichtigung psychosozialer Problemfelder zählt zu den Merkmalen einer guten Versorgung, auch von Patienten mit Morbus Crohn (MC) oder Colitis ulcerosa (CU). Seit 2014 wird Betroffenen mit chronisch entzündlicher Darmerkrankung (CED) online ein kostenfreies fragebogengestütztes Problemfeld-Assessment mit Versorgungsempfehlungen angeboten. Primäres Ziel unserer Datenanalyse ist die vergleichende Beschreibung soziodemografischer wie krankheitsbezogener Merkmale von Nutzerinnen und Nutzern dieses Angebotes. Methodik Für eine retrospektive Datenanalyse wurde die online-Stichprobe (OG) bestehend aus 2156 MC oder CU-Kranken mit 852 Personen aus 2 CED-Versorgungsforschungsstudien verglichen (VG). Neben deskriptiven Verfahren kamen Regressions- und Kovarianzanalysen zum Einsatz. Ergebnisse Die OG unterscheidet sich hoch signifikant und teils klinisch relevant von der VG. Jeder dritte ist jünger als 30 Jahre (VG: 19%); 45% haben Abitur (VG: 36%). In der OG befinden sich weniger Kranke in Remission (OG 34%; VG 59%). Auch unter Kontrolle der Unterschiede zeigt sich die OG im Vergleich zur VG in 12 der 17 erfassten psychosozialen Problemfelder als stärker belastet. Zu 5 von 9 krankheitsbezogenen Themenbereichen äußert sie einen stärkeren Informationsbedarf. Schlussfolgerung Die internetbasierte Version des Problemfeld-Assessments wird v. a. von jüngeren, besser ausgebildeten und körperlich wie psychosozial stärker belasteten CED-Kranken genutzt. Sie weisen ein hohes Informationsbedürfnis auf. Das Problemfeld-Assessment dürfte ihnen dabei helfen, sich selbst aktiv in die eigene Versorgung einzubringen. Unsere Daten werfen weiteres Licht auf Besonderheiten von Internet-basierten Untersuchungsgruppen.
