“…Th is cut-off level is synonymous with the absence of ulcers in a corresponding segment. Th e LS was recently validated in a retrospective series of SBCD patients, and a strong inter-observer correlation was demonstrated for the segmental and the total scores ( 45 ). A strong correlation between both scores was also reported ( 46 ) and was confi rmed in our study (data not shown).…”

“…Video capsule endoscopy is effective for assessment of small bowel mucosal healing and may be superior to magnetic resonance enterography in the evaluation of proximal small bowel lesions . The Lewis score and Capsule Endoscopy Crohn's Disease Activity Index have been validated for the assessment of disease activity and mucosal healing using video capsule endoscopy . However, the price of video capsule endoscopy is high, so it may be more cost‐effective in high‐risk patients such as those who have had multiple small bowel resections or with aggressive small bowel disease …”

“…An excellent interobserver correlation of the Lewis score in patients with established CD was recently demonstrated in another multicenter Portuguese study. 13 The CECDAI score does not address a specific definition of mucosal healing; however, in a recent study that evaluated a correlation between the scores, the Lewis score value of 135 was consistent with a CEC-DAI of 3.8. 10 To date, there are only a handful of studies that addressed monitoring of mucosal healing by VCE in CD.…”

“…9 The same group has recently validated the Lewis score. 13 An additional score known as capsule endoscopy Crohn's disease activity index (CECDAI) is also available. 14 This score divides the small bowel into 2 segments and incorporates the degree of inflammation, extent of disease, and strictures in both.…”
