The prevalence of stunting in children under five based on Basic Health Research data in 2007 and 2010 in Indonesia is still very high, namely 36.8% (18.8% very short and 18.0% short) in 2007 and 35.6% (18.5 % is very short and 17.1% is short) in 2010 so it can be concluded that stunting occurs in more than one third of children under five in Indonesia [5,6].South Sulawesi Province experienced an increase in stunting from 2007 (29.1%), increasing in 2010 (36.8%) and again experiencing an increase in 2013 to 40.9%. This indicates that the problem of stunting in infants is a public health problem considered serious because it reaches a stunting prevalence of ≥ 40%. Enrekang Regency is the regency with the highest stunting prevalence, which is 53.37% in 2013 in South Sulawesi [8].

Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the difference in quality of life of stunting children in Enrekang District based on their caries status. Material and Methods: This study was an observational analitic study with a cross sectional design, conducted in Buntu Batu, Baraka, and Malua Sub-district of Enrekang District on April 29-May 3, 2019. Height measurements, def-t/DMF-T, pufa/PUFA assessment of stunting children 6-12 years old, and assessment of quality of life related to oral health of children 8-12 years using the CPQ questionnaire. Data were collected, 123 children suffered from stunting. Results: Based on the Mann Whitney Test, p value < 0.05 showed that there were differences that statistically significant on def-t and pufa to quality of life of 8-10 years. The p value > 0.05 indicates that there are no significant differences in def-t/DMF-T and pufa/PUFA to quality of life of 11-12 years stunting children. Conclusion: There are differences in caries of primary teeth between stunting children aged 8 -10 years to their quality of life. At the age of 11-12 years there is no difference in caries to quality of life in Enrekang District.KeywordsCaries; Quality of life; Stunting.

Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the impact of mild congenital hypodontia on oral healthrelated quality of life in children aged from 11-14 years by considering their own statements. Materials and Methods: One hundred and thirty 11to 14-year-old children were included in this crosssectional study. The control group (G-C) was composed of 65 patients without hypodontia and the hypodontia group (G-H) was composed of 65 patients with different numbers of missing teeth. After oral examination, children were asked to fill out the Child Perceptions Questionnaire (CPQ 11-14) to evaluate the oral health-related quality of life. The number/ numbers of missing teeth, the segment of missing teeth, and demographic data were recorded. The data were analyzed using Student's t-test, the chi square test, and Pearson correlation analysis. Results: The mean age of children that participated in this study was 12.5+1.07 (55% girls, 45% boys). A total of 117 teeth were missing in patients with hypodontia. The mean number of missing teeth in patients with hypodontia was 1.77±0.65. The mean oral health-related quality of life score of the groups was 36.3±16.7 for control group and 34.7±18.1 for hypodontia group ; the difference between the groups was not statistically significant (p>0.05). Significant correlation was not detected between the oral healthrelated quality of life and the number of missing teeth in patients with hypodontia (r=-0.008, p=0.95). Conclusion: Missing teeth had no impact on oral health-related quality of life in patients with mild hypodontia due to the small numbers of missing teeth in the experimental group.
