“…The results of discriminant validity also showed that each unique dimension of EBPQ was distinct from one another. The findings were consistent with those of a similar nature (Salekzamani et al, 2015). The findings verified that the adopted version of the EBPQ had the theoretical factor structure.…”

“…Recently, in both developed and developing countries, chronic diseases cause premature deaths and significant disabilities because of the changes in dietary patterns, eating behaviour, and lifestyle (Salekzamani, Asghari-Jafarabadi & Dehghan, 2015). Behavioural factors such as eating behaviour pattern, is one of the most influential factors of weight gain and obesity (Chong et al, 2016).…”

“…Six eating behavior patterns were assessed in the EBPQ as follows: low fat eating (questions about the amount of fat in the diet and choosing low fat foods), snacking and convenience (questions about frequent use of cookies, high sugar bars and other sweet snacks), emotional eating (questions about the effect of emotional change on eating patterns), planning ahead (questions about eating out of home and frequent eating of fast foods in restaurants), meal skipping (questions about skipping the main food meals) and cultural/ life style behavior (questions about the role of food in family and community and the role of cultural impositions on food choices). Previous studies in Iran demonstrated the initial validity, reliability and feasibility of the Iranian version of EBPQ for use in young females establishing the Cronbach’s α and intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) ranging between 0.55 to 0.78 and 0.67 to 0.89 respectively [ 47 ]. However its reliability was assessed again and Cronbach’s α of 0.78 was established in the current study.…”

“…Considering the poor performance of Food Habit Questionnaire [ 6 , 47 ], the developers of EBPQ modified and incorporated new dimensions with a high Cronbach’s alpha of 0.80 for the overall EBPQ [ 43 ] and a test-retest reliability ranging from 0.67 to 0.90 [ 42 ]. Response category for each statement is based on 5-point Likert’s scale ranging from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree).…”
