Valorisation of cheese whey for ectoine production by Halomonas neptunia

Abstract: The production of ectoine, a valuable compound with significant potential as an osmoprotectant, antioxidant, macromolecule protector and anti‐inflammatory agent, was achieved by a lactose‐utilising bacterial strain.
