Purpose of the study: The study aims at investigating the students’ responses about moral education values behind the sentences from different historical texts in a classroom action research on the Intensive Reading course to find out their responses based on their experiences and to understand the values as well as understanding micro text elements. Methodology: The subjects of the research are the 2nd-semester students at the English Language Education Program of Slamet Riyadi University, Indonesia. The research method is a classroom action research. The methods in collecting the data were observation, a questionnaire, and document analysis. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/ verification. Main Findings: Research findings showed that the students’ responses on the passages entitled (1) “Restaurant Then and Now” indicates that they responded about local product, i.e. local food and beverages and beneficial activities during eating; (2) “Ray Harry hausen, Special Effects Genius” indicates they respond innovation, creativity, professionalism, and trust; (3) “Interview with a Young Environmentalist” indicates they respond professionalism, autonomous, creative, and working social activities together; and (4) “A New College Course: What Motivates Altruism?” show their response that valuable, sense of regard, autonomous, professionalism, and trust for altruism. Applications of this study: The study can be useful in the area of English language teaching, especially in teaching reading because students have to read and respond. Responding occurs if there is integration between prior knowledge, language experience, and critical thinking; therefore the researchers intend to encourage them to respond to understand the texts fully. Novelty/Originality of this study: Positive responses for positive sentences dominate the students’ response; so that they understand which sentence’s content is good or not at their mind. Their positive responses indicate that they are open, able to differentiate between good and bad activities, and able to read and assess the phenomena based on their various educational background.

The research goal of values education research is to grasp and track the development trend of values education, summarize the beneficial experience and competent practice of values education, and provide advice on the decision-making and policy-making of values education based on the strategic demands of the countries [3]; The research content of values education includes the position, function, implementation institutions, operation mechanism, content approaches, method carrier, guarantee mechanism, overall characteristics and development trend of values education [4][5][6][7][8]; The research methods of values education include field investigation, literature research, questionnaire survey, interview, case study, comparative study and other research methods of related disciplines. The revival and development of values education in the world has become a hot topic in the field of education development in the new century. With the increasing demands of the government and people from all walks of life on the values education, the research on values education has begun to increase in the international academic circles. This paper tries to adopt the method of knowledge mapping, select the literature on "values education" in the SSCI database from 2009 to 2018 as the analysis object, and use CiteSpace software to analyze values education. The paper finds that the number of publications on international values education is increasing year by year, forming a core research field focused on pedagogy, psychology and sociology. The mainstream authors on international values education research are Simon Marginson, Pierre Bourdieu, John Dewey, Albert Bandura, etc. In recent ten years, the hot topics on international values education research mainly focus on six themes. Teacher education, physical education, personal values, choosing the caring setting, digital storytelling and professional identity, and teacher education has become the most popular research topic.

The article is based on descriptive theoretical research and focused on two notions such as ‘leadership values’ and ‘values based leadership’. These two concepts are not compared, but every of them is described separately by highlighting general characteristics and showing their broad complexity. Both notions are not related to ethics and / or morality, as the aim the literature review was to provide insights on leadership values and values based leadership. The research question was the following: What aspects include two concepts such as ‘leadership values’ and ‘values based leadership’? Fourteen leadership values are provided and in the summary the three unifying aspects are presented and discussed – personality, interaction(s) and relationship(s), and action(s) / work. The common and flexible leadership values are presented. Values based leadership is discussed generally and four principles of this leadership are distinguished – self-reflection, balance, true self-confidence, and genuine humility. Also positive and limiting values based leadership shortly is discussed. The conclusion is focused on the idea that the leader needs to regain and maintain trust. Positive values based leadership goes beyond leveraging strengths and making meaning. Values based leaders who engage their employees and help them flourish in life. And for their organisations they boost productivity, creativity and financial returns. Leading and evaluating success based on values is the best way to build a high-performance culture in organisation.
