“…The application was tested on a set of 270 zeotropic and azeotropic systems of homogeneous binary solutions and 30 non‐homogeneous systems. In addition to the VLE data, values of the excess properties ( v E and h E ) have been used and, also, LLE data of the system studied, extracted from the literature,…”

“…The values of binary parameters a ij and b ij are shown in Table . The extended and modified UNIQUAC models were fitted to the experimental data using a calculation program by Prausnitz et al The binary parameters, for the methanol–EMC, ethanol–EMC, and EMC–heptane, were obtained by the regression of the measured LLE data for the water + methanol + EMC, water + ethanol + EMC and water + EMC + heptane.…”

“…The extended and modified UNIQUAC models , were used to correlate the measured LLE data. The vapor–liquid equilibrium (VLE) data were needed to get the binary parameters for completely miscible binary systems. and mutual solubility data were used to get the binary parameters for the immiscible binary systems . In this research, the ternary parameters obtained from the systems of water + methanol + heptane, water + methanol + heptane, water + EMC + methanol, water + EMC + ethanol, and water + EMC + heptane are needed to correlate well quaternary LLE.…”

“…A number of isothermal VLE data have been reported in the literature for the methanol + n-heptane binary system. Isobaric VLE data of this system are very limited as most of the studies present data that are isothermal and limited to only one temperature: Hongo et al 4 measured the VLE of methanol + hexane, methanol + heptane, ethanol + hexane, ethanol + heptane, and ethanol + octane by a flow-type apparatus at 298.15 (K). Kammerer et al 5 reported the thermodynamic excess properties and VLE data of several binary and ternary mixtures containing methanol, tert-amyl methyl ether, and an alkane by an analytical method at 313.15 (K).…”
