The vapour bubble dynamics during subcooled flow boiling in a flat microchannel with the height of 0.6 mm was investigated using high-speed visualization. Nucleate flow boiling was maintained by localized heat source. The data on the bubble dynamics was compared with well-known classic growth correlation formulas. The obtained data have shown that the bubble size can reach the channel height in about 0.1 ms, which can lead to heat transfer crisis in channels with local heating.
