The High Ipanema watershed is located in a semiarid region and because of this, becomes more vulnerable and susceptible to the effects of environmental changes and the degradation process, it has serious economic and socio-environmental implications. In recent years with the advancement of remote sensing based on satellite imagery or other platforms, it has become possible to monitor different and large areas of the various biomes in the world. The objective of this study was to identify changes in the vegetation cover conditions in the Alto Ipanema watershed, using spectral analyzes of Landsat-8 OLI / TIRS satellite images, using remote sensing techniques. Landsat-8 OLI / TIRS satellite images were obtained from the United States Geological Survey – USGS, on 10/12/2013, 14/01/2015 and 12/08/2016, where they were processed from ERDAS IMAGINE® Software, version 9.1. The thematic maps of biophysical parameters were processed by ArcGis® 10.2.2 Software. With the biophysical parameters analyzed, it was found that the northwest portion of the watershed presents a considerable area of exposed soils with indication of a high degree of susceptibility to degradation and that the biophysical parameters evaluated by the SEBAL algorithm are efficient in understanding the dynamics of spatial and temporal areas of semiarid environments.

Proposal of the Spatial Dependence Evaluation From the Power Semivariogram Model

Abstract:In Geostatistics, the use of measurement to describe the spatial dependence of the attribute is of great importance, but only some models (which have second-order stationarity) are considered with such measurement. Thus, this paper aims to propose measurements to assess the degree of spatial dependence in power model adjustment phenomena. From a premise that considers the equivalent sill as the estimated semivariance value that matches the point where the adjusted power model curves intersect, it is possible to build two indexes to evaluate such dependence. The first one, SPD * , is obtained from the relation between the equivalent contribution (α) and the equivalent sill (C * = C0 + α), and varies from 0 to 100% (based on the calculation of spatial dependence areas). The second one, SDI * , beyond the previous relation, considers the equivalent factor of model (FM * ), which depends on the exponent β that describes the force of spatial dependence in the power model (based on spatial correlation areas). The SDI * , for β close to 2, assumes its larger scale, varying from 0 to 66.67%. Both indexes have symmetrical distribution, and allow the classification of spatial dependence in weak, moderate and strong.Keywords: Geostatistics; Variographic analysis; Semivariogram without sill; Spatial dependence indexes. Resumo:Em geoestatística, a utilização de medidas que descrevam a dependência espacial do atributo é de grande importância, porém apenas alguns modelos (que possuem estacionariedade de segunda ordem) são contemplados com tais medidas. Assim, este trabalho tem como objetivo propor medidas para avaliação do grau de dependência espacial em fenômenos com ajuste de modelo Barbosa, I. C. et al. 462 Bull. Geod. Sci, Articles section, Curitiba, v. 23, n°3, p.461 -475, Jul -Sept, 2017. potência. A partir de uma premissa que considera o patamar-equivalente como o valor de semivariância que coincide com o ponto em que as curvas ajustadas do modelo potência se interceptam, pode-se construir dois índices para avaliação de tal dependência. O primeiro, DE * , é obtido a partir da relação entre a contribuição-equivalente (α) e o patamar-equivalente (C * = C0 + α), e varia de 0 a 100% (baseado no cálculo de áreas de dependência espacial). O segundo, IDE * , além da relação anterior, considera um fator de modelo equivalente (FM * ), que depende do expoente β, o qual descreve a força da dependência espacial no modelo potência (baseado em áreas de correlação espacial). O IDE * , para β próximo de 2, assume sua maior escala, variando de 0 a 66.67%. Ambos os índices possuem distribuição simétrica, e permitem a classificação da dependência espacial em fraca, moderada e forte.

Água, Taubaté, vol. 11 n. 2, p. 327-338, 2016 ABSTRACTBrazil has the highest water availability of any country in the world. Nearly 20% of all the world's rivers flow on Brazilian soil. Brazil's herds of cattle, pigs and poultry are among the largest in the world, and the country uses irrigated agriculture extensively, which accounts for most water consumption (approximately 70% of the water consumed in the world). The Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), the largest and most important public institution of Brazilian agricultural research, has attempted to develop environmental technologies in order to minimize the impact caused by the scarcity and pollution of water resources. This paper describes the technologies this institution offers to different regions. For this purpose, a descriptive and exploratory study was conducted in various Embrapa research units. The results showed that research on the rational use of water in agriculture has intensified since the early 2000s. However, the pace of growth in agricultural activities and their impact is much greater than that of the generated technologies, demonstrating the difficulty in striking a balance in this relationship. Furthermore, it is clear that that water scarcity and the increasing pollution of shallow and deep waters are complex issues with no short-term solution.Keywords: Brazilian agriculture, Embrapa, rational use of water.Tecnologias para o uso racional da água na agricultura brasileira RESUMO O Brasil é o país com a maior disponibilidade hídrica do mundo, quase 20% das vazões de todos os rios do planeta, fluem em solo brasileiro. Possui um dos maiores rebanhos mundiais de suínos, aves e gado e utiliza largamente a agricultura irrigada, principal consumidora dos recursos hídricos (cerca de 70% da água consumida no mundo). A Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária -Embrapa, como a maior e mais importante instituição pública de pesquisa agropecuária brasileira, tem envidado esforços na tentativa de buscar soluções para, minimizar os impactos causados pela escassez e poluição dos recursos hídricos, por meio do desenvolvimento tecnologias ambientais. Esse trabalho descreve as tecnologias disponibilizadas por esta instituição para as diferentes regiões brasileiras. Para isso, foi desenvolvida uma pesquisa descritiva e exploratória junto às diversas unidades de pesquisa da Embrapa. Os resultados demonstram que houve uma intensificação das pesquisas voltadas para o uso racional da água na agricultura, a partir da década de 2000. Todavia, o ritmo de crescimento das atividades agropecuárias e seus impactos é bem maior do que o das tecnologias geradas, o que dificulta se encontrar um equilíbrio nesta relação.
