Variabilidade longitudinal do lenho de Schizolobium amazonicum (Paricá)

Abstract

The production of plywood allows the rational use of wood due to the greater use of this raw material. In this sense, the objective of this study was to evaluate the variation in some physical properties in the paricá tree trunk (Schizolobium amazonicum var. Amazonicum). For this, five tree individuals obtained from a commercial plantation located in the Paragominas-Pará region were evaluated. Basic density and linear longitudinal, radial and tangential, volumetric shrinkage varying significantly in relation to the longitudinal position. The anisotropic factor did not vary in the base-top direction of the tree, the paricá wood presented stability with low density.
