“…As far as French learners of English are concerned, Toffoli and Sockett (2015) cite a previous study of theirs, where teachers noted that more and more students targeted an American pronunciation. The only recent acoustic study (that we are aware of) involving French students' productions in an attempt to assess the proportion of RP and GA variants is Yibokou et al (2019). Ten students were recorded producing key words whose phonetic content is known to be accent-specific (rhoticity, T Voicing, etc.).…”
