Abstract:Abstract. In this paper we study the effect of metal-dependent stellar models on chemical yields and in particular on the history of nitrogen and oxygen abundances. We find that N yield decreases with increasing metal content. This effect somewhat balances the growth of secondary enrichment in nitrogen and leads to a relation between oxygen and nitrogen in fair agreement with observational data for galactic H I! regions.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
