Outcome-based education is increasingly coming into focus as faculty, administrators, and accrediting bodies stress outputs, rather than curricular inputs as a measure of successful educational efforts. The focus here is on extending recent work which has been aimed at developing a meaningful assessment framework for the international business major. A pedagogical view is presented of keyprogram components. More importantly, though, this study goes a step further, by suggesting specific and measurable assessment criteria in the second part of the paper. An existing program at a small college in Philadelphia is used as an example, but the recommendations can easily be extended to programs at other institutions.
