Variações Físicas Durante O Crescimento Dos Frutos Da Ubaia-Azeda

Abstract

The species Eugenia azeda Sobral is a shrub that occurs in Restingas environments. The research aimed to characterize the physical variations of Eugenia azeda fruits during growth, aiming to define the ideal harvest point. It was developed at the Botanical Garden of São Gonçalo and at the Plant Ecophysiology Laboratory of the State University of Ceará-UECE during February 2018. The analyzes carried out were color (C), transverse diameter (TD), longitudinal diameter (LD), fresh mass (FM) and pulp yield (PY). Stage four (S4) had the highest values for TD, LD and FW. The stadium that had the highest performance was stage five (S5). It's concluded that the fruits reach physiological maturity in S4, therefore, this is the ideal harvest point.
