Introduction.
Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is characterized by the Philadelphia chromosome (Ph) observed in more than 90% of patients with CML as a result of t(9;22)(q34;q11), leading to the formation of chimeric gene BCR/ABL encoding for proteins with abnormal tyrosine kinase activity.
