Abstract:River regulation by dams on the Missouri River has modified riparian forest successional patterns, with decreases in early and increases in later seral stages and higher occurrence of invasive tree species, including Russian olive (Elaeagnus angustifolia) and eastern red cedar (Juniperus virginiana).
