Veiled nonlocality, cosmic censorship, and local observations

Abstract: The premise that consciousness has a quantum mechanical basis or correlate implies that its workings have a nonlocal component. To check whether consciousness as an entity leaves a physical trace, we propose that laboratory searches for such a trace should be for nonlocality, where probabilities do not conform to local expectations. Starting with the idea that nonlocality may be veiled as one of the ways cosmic censorship operates, we further argue that in order to preserve the ordinary objective reality descr… Show more

“…The experiencing individuals view reality in species-specific, planetary-specific and frame-specific ways, which can be further explored in mathematical formalism. What applies to our species as veiling may actually have cosmic implications: Veiled non-locality and cosmic censorship may yield understanding of the unification of general relativity, quantum theory, through consciousness (as pointed out by Kafatos and Kak, 2015).…”

“…In quantum theory, veiling is responsible for inherent non-localities that are directly observed. The reader is directed to the works of Kafatos and Kak (2015) and references therein on the veiling in general which assumes specific definitions in general relativity and quantum mechanics as explained in Kafatos and Kak. Likewise We remark the following equivalent forms given here: Veiling is characterized by limiting the field of Awareness to specific properties which characterize objects and qualia.…”

“…A certain “veiling of Consciousness occurs, manifest in veiling of quantum non-locality” . 57 The full mathematics is under development. At this point, it suffices to say that what occurs is the logical statement I (Am) Not that, or That Not (Am) I.…”

“…23 Likewise, the most persistent paradigm in neuroscience considers the mind as an emergent property of a large and complex physical brain that mediates awareness and remembrance. 58,59 In this orthodox view, "mind" appeared in the evolutionary chain because of the development of nervous systems in general, central nervous systems in particular, or only in primates and perhaps just homo sapiens. 60 In contrast, a view closely linked to the role of observation in quantum measurements assigns a role to subjectivity in keeping with the Copenhagen Interpretation (CI) and particularly its revision by John von Neumann, known as the orthodox quantum view.…”
