Vermicompost Production Technique and Materials Used in Production

Abstract: Vermikompost, organik atıkların solucanların sindirim sisteminden geçirilmek suretiyle mezolifik kompostlama işlemine tabi tutularak elde edilen son üründür. Toprakta organik maddenin noksanlığı tarımsal üretimin verimliliğini azaltmakta ve sürekliliğine engel olmaktadır. Toprak organik maddesi mikrobiyal canlılığı artırmak, toprak yapısını düzeltmek, toprağın besin ve hormonal içeriğini düzenlemek suretiyle tarımsal üretkenliği artırmaya yardımcı olur. Bu nedenle tarım topraklarımızda vermikompost kullanımını… Show more

“…Vermicompost contains high percentage of both macro-and micro-nutrients, which are readily available to the plants within a month of application (Sreenivas et al, 2000) [62] . Vermicompost is a manure that contains all essential plant nutrients like nitrogen (1.94%), phosphorus (0.47%), potassium (0.70%), magnesium (0.46%), iron (7563 ppm), zinc (278 ppm), manganese (475 ppm), boron (34 ppm) and cupper (27 ppm), thus, it eliminates the usage of any further synthetic chemical in soil (Ceritoglu et al, 2019) [10] . Further, the nutrients in vermicompost are often much higher than traditional garden compost (Alam et al, 2007) [2] .…”

“…Organik gübrelerden solucan gübresi katı halde toprağa karıştırılabilmekte, sıvı formu ise tohuma ve yaprağa uygulanabilmektedir. Özellikle solucan gübresi, bitkilerin verim ve kalitelerinin artırılmasıyla birlikte, bitkilerin hastalık ve zararlılara karşıda dayanıklılığını belli ölçüde artırılmasına katkı sağlamaktadır [8]. Bu konuda yeni çalışmalar halen yapılmaktadır.…”

“…Cattle manure, vegetable wastes, domestic wastes and industrial wastes are commonly used in vermicompost production. Worm species, production technique, temperature, drying techniques used in vermicompost production signi cantly in uence the quality of nal product (Ceritoğlu et al 2018). Vermicompost products have many advantages, from plant growth to soil regulating effects, from antioxidant effects to potential use of all kinds of (vegetable, animal, industrial, etc.)…”

“…Besides increasing soil organic matter, vermicompost also provides the soil with plant nutrients, hormones, enzymes and humic substances. It increases microbial activity thus positively affects soil fertility and vitality (Ceritoğlu et al 2018). Vermicompost obtained through digestive system of the worms has a signi cant potential to reduce the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers (Simsek-Ersahin 2010).…”
