Abstract

Verrucous plaque on the foot in a 12-year-old boy with epidermolysis bullosa CASE PRESENTATIONA 12-year-old male, with recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB), presented with a non-healing ulcerated, verrucous plaque on the dorsum of his right foot, persisting for 1 year. Despite receiving multiple courses of topical and systemic antibiotics, there was no improvement or healing. His parents are consanguineous and both he and one sibling with RDEB have shown a biallelic pathogenic variant in COL7A1 gene (c.4198delG). On examination, his height and weight were below the third percentile. He exhibited poor dentition, and multiple scattered blisters, erosions, and scarring on the face, trunk, and extremities.
