Abstract: Objective. -EMDR for Eye Movement Desensitization and Repro-cessing developed since 1989 by F. Shapiro has demonstrated its effectiveness in the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In Science of Education, no study has been previously deve-loped in the application of EMDR protocols. The purpose of this article is to demonstrate the relevance and effectiveness of EMDR in supporting cognitive and emotional remediation of students in Master 1, with respect to mathematics, preparing Schools Teacher… Show more

“…It may, therefore, be that the subjective feeling of the experimental group was possibly at the lower end of the baseline, and so, the increase throughout the process should be interpreted with caution. Although, in this study, more participants took part than in studies with a comparable approach (e.g., [ 22 , 23 ]), larger sample sizes should be considered for future studies in order to increase the validity of the data. Lastly, objective physiological measures (e.g., heart rate variability or electromyogram) could also have increased the validity of this study and should be considered in future studies with the wingwave ® method when anxiety and/or concentration parameters are collected.…”

“…EMDR has also been used to support cognitive and emotional remediation of undergraduate future schoolteachers in their first year of the master program. Students of the EMDR group, unlike those in the control group, experienced a significant decline in their negative emotions as well as an increased sense of their self-efficacy ([ 23 ]).…”

“…In their study, one single session was sufficient to produce significant reductions in several measures of anxiety scores immediately after the EMDR treatment (vs Waitlist), with the treatment having lasting effects previous to examinations. More recently, another study (Vauthier et al, 2019) extended the EMDR beneficial findings to learning, specifically in mathematics, a well-known anxiogenic subject for university students required to pass a mandatory high-level mathematics contest. One single session of EMDR, focusing on past anxiogenic experiences related to learning mathematics revealed significant effects in reducing the negativeemotion bias related to mathematics in general.…”

“…( Rousseau, Malbos, & Verger, 2019).
