Versión en español de la escala Maternal Breastfeeding Evaluation Scale: Análisis de fiabilidad y validez

Abstract

Fundamento: Es necesario el desarrollo de herramientas válidas que midan la satisfacción en la lactancia materna para analizar los comportamientos de lactancia materna y evaluar la efectividad de las intervenciones. El cuestionario Maternal Breastfeeding Evaluation Scale (MBFES) es uno de los más utilizados, pero carece de versión en español. El objetivo de este trabajo es traducir el cuestionario al español y evaluar sus propiedades psicométricas. Métodos: Para su traducción se utilizó el método de traducción-retrotraducción con estudio piloto. A través de una muestra de 136 madres de un Hospital Área V de Murcia, España, se realizó la validación del cuestionario evaluando comprensión, fiabilidad y viabilidad del cuestionario. Para conocer la estructura dimensional de la escala se realizó un análisis factorial exploratorio con rotación Varimax. Resultados: Se detectaron las mismas tres escalas que fueron observadas en la versión original. El alfa de Cronbach fue de 0.925 para la escala general y de 0.92, 0.923 y 0.926 para las subescalas, indicando una consistencia interna aceptable entre los elementos de la escala. Conclusiones: El análisis realizado muestra la validez y fiabilidad de la traducción propuesta lo que respaldaría su uso clínico en el ámbito español.
