Versions of physicochemical measurements used in chemical and allied branches of industry. Part 2. Measurements based on an indirect measurement method*

Abstract

Versions are considered of physicochemical measurements based on an indirect measurement method used in chemical and allied branches of industry. The main features are determined for these measurements and results of their systematization are provided.Physicochemical measurements based on an indirect measurement method may be separated into three types. i.e., direct, cumulative, and combined measurements. These types of measurements are performed in two stages: the first stage is preparation of primary measurement information, and the second stage is calculation of test substance properties based on measurements results [1-3].Just like physicochemical measurements based on a direct measuring method, the measured properties for a test substance are the concentration of its components or physicochemical properties. As primary measurement information there may be use of results of measuring test substance characteristics, differing in its measured characteristics, results of measuring substance sample characteristics and the results measuring the characteristics of a converted sample. Subsequently the characteristics of a test substance, its sample or converted sample, whose measurement results comprise the primary measurement information, will be called primary measurement characteristics.Generally, calculation of the results of measuring test substance characteristics is performed on the basis of certain equations [1-3]:
