Verstärkung der orthotropen Stahlfahrbahn der Schönwasserparkbrücke mittels Stahl‐Elastomer‐Sandwich (SPS)

Abstract: Vom Bundesministerium für Verkehr, Bau und Stadtentwicklung wurde 2005 ein Pilotprojekt zur Anwendung von Stahl‐Elastomer‐Sandwich‐Overlay zur Verstärkung von orthotropen Stahlfahrbahnen gefördert.

“…Schönwasserpark Bridge re-opened after only a five-week closure period. The effectiveness of the SPS Overlay solution was realized by halving the stresses in the fatigue-critical welds of the longitudinal stiffeners, thus increasing the fatigue life by a factor of 32 [4], [5].…”

“…Asphalt wearing surfaces have been used on SPS bridge decks, including Schönwasserpark Bridge (Germany) [4], [5], Mettlach Bridge (Germany) [9] and Dawson Bridge (Canada). Alternatively, a lightweight wearing surface can be applied directly to the SPS bridge deck surface (e.g.…”

“…With steel bridges in widespread use, their maintenance has become a subject of concern for bridge owners. Many research papers have introduced the repair methods of the recently popular composite bridges ( [1], [2], [3]) and orthotropic steel deck structures ( [4], [5]). These new structures can be strengthened with new materials such as fibre-reinforced plastics (FRP) and new methods such as the sandwich plate system (SPS).…”
