Energy conservation has always been a prominent design goal for hierarchical routing protocols supporting sink mobility. Advertising the current position of mobile sink introduces control packet overhead which ultimately results in an increase in energy consumption and shorter network lifetime. Energy harvesting through ambient sources have enabled the utilization of rechargeable devices for Wireless Sensor Networks to perpetually remain operational. The modifications in the hierarchical structure of wireless sensor networks along with energy scavenging approaches could possibly minimize the control packet overhead and also provide a significant improvement in energy conservation. In this paper, we propose a novel Harvested Energy Scavenging and Transfer capabilities in Opportunistic Ring Routing protocol which uses a distinguishing approach of hybrid (ring + cluster) topology in which the network architecture is initially supported by the formation of a virtual ring structure and then a two-tier routing topology is used in the virtual ring as an overlay by grouping nodes into clusters. The rate of energy gain from solar harvesting and radio frequency transfer is the criterion for selecting cluster heads. The role of cluster heads is exploited to advertise the mobile sink current position as well as forward the aggregated data towards mobile sink using energy transfer based opportunistic routing. The simulation results reveal that our scheme considerably outperforms the existing benchmarks in terms of control packet overhead, energy conservation, network lifetime, packet delivery ratio and average end-end delay.

The recent developments in collaborative search, acquisition, and tracking have hoisted the geographical barrier. The network between unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is one such collaboration, which comprises battery-powered static sensor nodes that act as sources and sinks and UAVs that act as relays. This collaborative network presents with opportunities and advantages, but at the same time, configuration of such networks is an arduous task. The WSN nodes are characterized by constant depleting power. Their network itself requires constant management and reconfiguration. These requisites can be slaked through the formation of an efficient data dissemination algorithm, which acclimates according to the network state. Considering this, a data dissemination approach is presented in this paper, which constructs a virtual topology predicated on the charge of WSN nodes utilizing software-defined networks (SDNs) through UAVs. The topology is constantly monitored and reconfigured when required. The aerial nodes are equipped with multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antennas in order to facilitate simultaneous communication with the ground nodes, the base station, and the SDN controller. An efficient sleep timer and backoff counter strategies are also utilized by the proposed approach. The SDN controller facilitates the topology formation and maintenance of a sleep timer and a backoff counter. The proposed model is compared with clustered hierarchical layouts and hexagonal cell layouts through the network simulations. The results suggest significant improvements in the proposed model for various metrics, such as lifetime, delay, latency, delivery ratio, and throughput in comparison with the existing solutions.High radio frequency (RF) coverage, high altitude, high throughput, heavy payload, less operating time, ease of use, and low cost are the basic requirements of UAV-CONOPS. Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Reconnaissance (CBRN)-CONOPS whose major purpose is the containment of hazards are also turning towards UAV networks. Cellular network-based air-to-ground links and unmanned aircraft system (UAS)-backbone systems, communication aware sensor distribution, etc are some of the promising aspects of the UAV systems. 2,3 The crucial step towards UAV networks is the development of sustainable multi-UAV environments. National regulations, routing, path planning, quality of service (QoS), integration with Global Information Grid (GIG), mobility control, coordination, and standardization are the steps required for efficient migration towards flying networks (multi-UAV). 4,5 The complexity of the multi-UAV ad hoc networks makes data dissemination also a challenging prospect. Industrial wireless sensor networks (IWSNs) have been widely used in many application scenarios, and data collection is an extremely significant part of IWSNs. Moreover, a mobile sink is widely used in industrial wireless sensor networks to collect sensory data and alleviate the "hot spot" problem effectively. However, usage of a mobile sink introduces some challenges, such as updating of a mobile sink's location and planning of a mobile sink's trajectory. Meanwhile, the impact of different distribution types of events on data collection has not been sufficiently valued in designing of data collection algorithm for IWSNs yet. To overcome these challenges, a virtual grid-based real-time data collection algorithm for applications with centrally distributed events (VGDCA-C) is proposed in this paper to gain a reliable data gathering for IWSNs . In the target application scenarios, the events are distributed centrally, so we mainly focus on how to shorten the routing paths and decrease the transmission delay. In our VGDCA-C, a mobile sink can adjust its movement dynamically according to the changes in event areas. The adjustment of a mobile sink movement strategy includes two aspects. The first one is the dynamic adjustment of a mobile sink's parking time, and the second one denotes the moving toward event area of a mobile sink. Thus, a mobile sink adjusts its location such that it can get closer to the event area. Hence, the total length of routing is getting shorter so that source nodes can upload sensory data faster. Analysis and simulation results show that compared with the existing work, our VGDCA-C increases the network lifetime and decreases transmission delay.
