Coherent acoustic vibrations of nanoresonators have attracted considerable attention, owing to their rich phonon spectra. Understanding and manipulating coherent acoustic vibrational spectra in nanoresonators hold considerable promise for diverse technological applications ranging from acoustic imaging to biomechanics. This Perspective provides an exploration of coherent acoustic phonon spectra observed in both single and coupled nanoresonators using time-resolved measurements. We discuss the vibrational characteristics of single nanoresonators, concentrating on the acoustic frequency, lifetime, vibrational amplitude, and phase. Additionally, our discussion extends to vibrational spectra in coupled nanoresonators with a specific focus on elucidating the coupling mechanisms. Finally, we highlight both the opportunities and the challenges in coherent control of the vibrational spectra of nanoresonators.
