International business students often have limited work experience at home or abroad which influences how they make sense of teaching material. Hearing directly from managers about the challenges they face in internationalizing their company and understanding the solutions they have considered in a structured way is an insightful approach to learn about IB and addresses these deficits. Video based learning, and video case studies in particular, offer this window of opportunity to students by transporting them to the boardroom and comparing their approaches with those of senior managers. We address why and how to employ video case studies in class to achieve greatest impact.
