Abstract:This work presents an islanded microgrid energy system that uses backstepping control applied to neutral point clamped (NPC) multilevel converters coupled with batteries to behave as virtual generators, able to absorb surplus renewable energy, therefore increasing the penetration of renewable energy sources.
