Virtual laboratory and learning management system in optimal control theory education

Abstract: Virtual and remote laboratories that are commonly used in engineering education are mainly designed using Java programming language. The most popular and widely used learning management system is Moodle. This paper describes the development of a virtual laboratory using Easy Java Simulations software tool and its integration with e-learning tool Moodle. The virtual laboratory demonstrates how Easy Java Simulations and Moodle are used in optimal control theory education by the example of the well-known brachist… Show more

“…Ignorance of such realities results in simulations that never match real hardware. Remote/Online [11][12][13] and Virtual laboratories [14][15][16] are good solutions for distance learning courses 17,18 and enable learners to work with laboratories remotely at a time of their choosing. This solution resolves two common problems: lack of laboratory facilities and hardware interaction.…”

“…Virtual laboratory can organize a practicum performed by a student and enhance students' conceptions of thaught material (Arista & Kuswanto, 2018;Hidayat & Utomo, 2015). This laboratory with free simulation can be motivate the students in learning process (Popovic & Naumovic, 2016). It can make improve the students' achievement (Bakar et al, 2013).…”
