Virtual Learning Environment for an Industrial Assembly Task

Abstract: In this paper, we present a virtual learning environment for an industrial assembly task, which combines an easyto-use interaction with an intuitive user experience. It is shown that such a virtual environment can be used for initial training to introduce tasks to new employees, but also experts may benefit from advanced training in case of new products, or new assembly routines. Consequently, this application was validated twice. First, in a lab pilot study showing that the simple interactions and helpful ins… Show more

“…This is done with an initial prototype following a structured framework for using VR in the design of HRC systems that includes a chatbot as virtual assistant. Another VR-based assistance system, designed for the initial training professionals, is presented by Hirt et al [ 26 ]. In their experiment, 21 participants evaluated generally positive the systems on criteria such as familiarity, usability as well as specific VR-metrics (i.e., simulator sickness perception and feeling of presence).…”

“…Los AVA aprovechan la tecnología para realizar actividades de aprendizaje y mejorar las habilidades y los conocimientos de los estudiantes desde un esquema instruccional perfectamente planeado con objetivos definidos con claridad (Silva et al, 2016). Para Hirt et al (2019), la aplicabilidad de los AVA es de suma importacia.…”
