Virtual network construction with K‐shortest path algorithm and optimization problems for robust physical networks

Abstract: In network virtualization, it has been considered that virtual networks are constructed over a physical network where conventional data transmission services have been utilized. Here, virtual networks have to be constructed while keeping qualities of the conventional services. In this paper, we propose a new virtual network construction in order to construct many virtual networks while keeping the robustness of a physical network by using network resources effectively. The proposed method consists of three pro… Show more

“…By utilizing these methods, each virtual network can keep the data transmission service even if a failure of single link of the substrate network occurs. Moreover, virtual network construction methods for robust substrate networks have been proposed in [15], [16] and [17]. In these methods, virtual networks are constructed over a substrate network while utilizing conventional data transmission services such as existing Internet services in the substrate network.…”

“…Such problems require very large numbers of computations and memory addresses to solve. Instead of finding all paths, dealing with just the best path is generally the preferred technique [10,11]. The -shortest-path problem is an extension algorithm of the single-source shortest-path problem.…”
