Viscosities and Densities of Dilute Solutions of Glycerol Trioleate + Octane, + p-Xylene, + Toluene, and + Chloroform

Abstract: Dynamic viscosities ( ) and densities ( ) of dilute solutions of glycerol trioleate + chloroform, at 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 °C, and of glycerol trioleate + octane, + p-xylene, + toluene, at 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 °C, were measured. The dynamic viscosities and the excess volumes were correlated with the composition and temperature through empirical relations. The standard deviations from the derived viscosity equation were of the same order of magnitude as the experimental uncertainties. The excess volumes (V6)… Show more

“…The k and c parameters were obtained by measurements on double distilled water and benzene at T = 298.15 K. The obtained parameters are k = 0.010 m 2 AE s À2 and c = 1.095 m 2 . The dynamic viscosity was reproducible to within ±2 AE 10 À3 mPa AE s. The temperature in the cell was regulated to ±0.01 K. The electronic timer can measure time to ±0.01 s. Densities, viscosities, and isobaric thermal expansivity of the pure reagents were in good agreement with values found in the literature [21][22][23], reported in table 1.…”
