Much of the literature on the narrative development of children of Asian descent, however, has been primarily descriptive (e.g., Chen & Yan, 2011; Lai, Lee, & Lee, 2010; Lofranco, Peña, & Bedore, 2006), leaving little known about the role of oral narrative skills.
