Visual illiteracy

Abstract: Visual illiteracy occurs whenever there is insufficient understanding in the purpose of a visual presentation. Close collaboration between the designers and end users of biomedical analysis software will alleviate visual illiteracy problems. Two case histories illustrating this approach are presented.
