“…In a population study of over 8000 individuals, only 7.7% of subjects had measurable 3-epi-25(OH)D 3 levels. The authors concluded that quantification of 3-epi-25(OH)D 3 levels does not significantly influence the clinical interpretation of vitamin D levels [22]. In the current study, 3-epi-25(OH)D 3 was detected in all subjects.…”

“…It has been observed that all major vitamin D metabolites can be epimerised and later metabolised analogously to standard ones; however, the C3 epimer form of active vitamin D (C3-epi-1,25(OH) 2 D) does not exhibit all effects of the classic isomer [13]. In the current study, in only 13 participants IQR -interquartile range; SD -standard deviation; 25(OH)D and 3-epi-25(OH)D 3 concentrations were significantly different between hypothyroid versus euthyroid patients, respectively: ANOVA with Tukey's post hoc test: p = 0.0179 and p = 0.0223, respectively, Kruskall-Walis test p = 0.0309 and p = 0.0133, respectively PRACE ORYGINALNE and 3-epi-25(OH)D 3 concentrations correlated positively [14,15]. Similarly to previous studies, a strong positive correlation between calcidiol and 24,25(OH) 2 D 3 was demonstrated here [16,17].…”
