Volumetric Behavior of Binary Mixtures of Alkoxyethanols and Some Selected Amines at 298.15 K

Abstract: Densities of binary mixtures of 2-methoxyethanol (2-MeO-EtOH) and 2-ethoxyethanol (2-EtO-EtOH) with hexylamine (HLA), diethylamine (DEA), triethylamine (TEA), tert-butylamine (TBA), aniline (ANL), and benzylamine (BLA) have been determined at varying compositions of the alkoxyalkanols at 298.15 K. The excess molar volumes, VE, of the binary mixtures were calculated from the experimental density data of the mixtures and the component single solvents. The calculated excess molar volumes were fitted into the Redl… Show more

“…Apart from the aforementioned work by Kipkemboi and Easteal, there is also the results consisting from four ρ 1 ○ ( T ) values over the temperature range from T = 288.15 to 303.15 K reported by Tôrres and Hoga . In addition, we found a few of other papers, which provide the density data for liquid t -BuNH 2 at several (one to three) temperatures over the range from T = 293.15 to 303.15 K. , Meanwhile, if the data ,,, are in overall comparable to those we obtained here, then the results ,, look quite different from ours (Figure ). So, the difference in ρ 1 ○ is about 4 kg·m –3 at T = 298.15 K and it even increases reaching T = 303.15 K (Table ).…”

“…Figure 15 represents the hydrogen bonding formed in the mixture. The negative excess molar volume (V m E ) 12 and positive excess viscosity (∆η) represent the strong interaction between the unlike molecules of the binary mixture, like dipole-dipole hydrogen bonding. Though the excess adiabatic compressibility (∆β ad ) values here are positive the magnitudes are low.…”

“…DEE has also found broad applications in medicine and pharmacy due to its anesthetic effect, with the advantage of having a relatively wide gap between therapeutic and toxic doses, compared to chloroform (Bovil, 2008) 4 . The applications of 2alkoxyethanols have been reported elsewhere (Jumbo et al, 2019) 1 and (Kemeakegha et al, 2015) 5 .…”
