Volumetric Lagrangian temperature and velocity measurements with thermochromic liquid crystals

Abstract: We propose a Lagrangian method for simultaneous, volumetric temperature and velocity measurements. As tracer particles for both quantities, we employ encapsulated thermochromic liquid crystals (TLCs).
