Vortex phase elements as detectors of polarization state

Abstract: We suggest vortex phase elements to detect the polarization state of the focused incident beam. We analytically and numerically show that only the types of polarization (linear, circular, or cylindrical) can be distinguished in the low numerical aperture (NA) mode. Sharp focusing is necessary to identify the polarization state in more detail (direction or sign). We consider a high NA micro-objective and a diffractive axicon as focusing systems. We show that the diffractive axicon more precisely detects the pol… Show more

“…We use this methods not only for the study of diffractive optical elements (in particular, of short-focus DOEs), but also for the study of nanophotonics components [66][67][68][69][70][71][72][73][74], for the design of equipment for hyperspectral remote sensing [75][76][77][78][79] and solving other urgent tasks of diffractive nanophotonics [80]. …”

“…She has considered the influence of the light wavelength deviation from the base one in the manufacture of DOE, as well as the effect of broadening the spectrum while using nonmonochromatic radiation sources. I should also note the following areas of her scientific interests [103][104][105][106][107][108] related with research in the field of diffractive nanophotonics and photovoltaics.…”

“…He raised and organized the solution of tasks of computing [96][97] and optical [98][99][100][101][102][103] experiments, paid significant attention to the development of asymptotic methods in computer optics [104][105]. In all of these areas the studies are being carried out to the present time [106][107][108][109][110][111]. Works in the field of optical instrumentation are continuing in the STC UI RAS and IPSI RAS.…”
