Abstract: Transdermal drug delivery system (TDDS) in comparison to conventional system offers sustained drug release as well as decrease the intensity of action and decrease in the side effects associated with conventional therapy. Presently only about 40 products of more than 20 drug molecules are available in market. The barrier property of the stratum corneum is the main obstructer in the release of drug from the transdermal patch.
