Waste Isolation Pilot Plant Environmental Monitoring Plan

Abstract

Order 5400.1 (DOE,1990a) requires each DOE site to prepare an environmental monitoring plan (EMP). According to the order, a written EMP will be prepared for each site, facility, or process that uses, generates, releases, or manages significant pollutants or hazardous materials. The plan will contain the rationale and design criteria for the monitoring program, extent and frequency of monitoring and measurements, procedures for laboratory analyses, quality assurance (QA) requirements, program implementation procedures, and direction for the preparation and disposition of reports.
