Video is an integral part of modern communication, but its digital nature raises concerns about manipulation and unauthorized access. Massive amounts of information are being posted. This leaves society to believe that as factual without challenging its integrity, or privacy. Keeping the integrity and authenticity of video footage has become a crucial concern due to the growth of digital video data. Video authentication techniques ensure video integrity, security, confidentiality, and availability, security of data sharing in social media and privacy-preserving data security throughout the data lifecycle .Digital watermarking is one method of video authentication that may be used to stop unauthorized copying, tampering, or alteration of video footage. This study describes a watermarking technique that uses SHA256 authentication and hashing. The recommended technique uses a hash function to create unique watermarks for each frame of a movie and embeds them using a mechanism that is impervious to typical attacks like compression and cropping. The proposed method offers a reliable and cost-effective solution for video authentication, which can enhance the security and integrity of video data in various applications
