Ways to reduce hydraulic losses in multistage centrifugal pumping equipment for mining and oil-producing industries

Abstract: Purpose. To study hydraulic losses in pumping units during pumping and transportation of liquids, to develop the design and technology solutions to improve the energy efficiency of centrifugal pumps in the mining and oil-producing industries. Methodology. In the theoretical and experimental analysis of hydraulic losses during the transportation of liquids, the hydraulics and experimental analysis methods were used. Findings. As a result of the research carried out, a new design scheme of a multistage centr… Show more

“…Experiments carried out at a constant concentration with different fractions of particles d confirmed the linear dependence of the wear of the blades and the pump impeller chamber on the size of solid particles, which is the basis of equation (1). Dependence 𝛥𝐺 = 𝑓(𝑑) of a fixed streamlined part -straightening device -differs from linear [4][5][6][7]. Subsequently, all other experiments were carried out at constant values of T=5h, p=10 kg/m 3, and dср =0.34 mm.…”

“…Concerning vane pumps used in irrigation systems, the task of establishing allowable wear is mainly technical and economic. Taking into account the leading role of the size of the sealing and end gaps of the impellers of centrifugal and axial pumps with a decrease in energy performance, we have proposed a method for determining their optimal overhaul life based on a technical and economic comparison of options for reduced costs [1][2][3][4][5][6]. The equation expresses the given costs associated with the maintenance and operation of pumps:…”
