Abstract:The roller–shoe mechanism is a classic mechanical assembly with an essential role in motion transmission. Common rail high-pressure pumps are an example of a complex assembly that uses such a mechanism to transform the rotation motion into a translation one. The rolling element of the mechanism is represented by a cylindrical roller.
