“…Although GPA can involve the central nervous system (), the risk of stroke associated with the syndrome is not well characterized. Ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes have been described in patients with GPA (), and some cases of stroke have been histologically linked to cerebral vasculitis (). To our knowledge, however, the incidence of stroke among GPA patients has not been examined in epidemiologic studies.…”

“…Mucosal hemorrhage in the lungs and gastrointestinal tract is frequent complication of small vessel vasculitides including WG, but much less common are intracerebral and intraventricular hemorrhage. ICH may occur as an initial manifestation or latter in the disease course despite being on standard immunosuppressive therapy as our patient [2,6]. This case also demonstrates that the development of CNS vasculitis may correlate with disease activity in other organs such as diffuse pulmonary hemorrhage.…”

“…For example, De Luna et al investigated 35 patients with GPA and CNS abnormalities and found that pachymeningitis (n=20) was more frequent than cerebral ischemic lesions (n=15) and ICH (n=2) ( 5 ). We searched the Medline database and found 24 cases of GPA-associated ICH (including the present case) ( 3 , 4 , 30 - 42 ). The male to female ratio was 3:1 and the average patient age was 45.1 years.…”
