This provider-integrated preventive care approach may provide a model for incorporating knowledge from behavioral science into clinical care.

“…With the physiologic benefits of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease risk reduction through lifestyle change well-established in clinical [12,55] and translational settings [19,56,21,57,58], these findings help strengthen the case for increasing the use of HRQoL assessment tools in community lifestyle interventions. Building on these results, future studies should include measurement of HRQoL and explore relationships between HRQoL and specific clinical and behavioral outcomes in translational diabetes prevention programs.…”

“…high risk mothers with preschoolers) may be a fruitful avenue for diabetes prevention translation. Face to face interaction has consistently been shown to be most effective for weight loss and maintenance [52,53], however telephonic and web-based approaches are increasingly being utilized as a cost-effective means to extend the reach and scope of intervention support [16,24,25,52,53]. …”

“…Since this landmark clinical trial, there has been a profusion of translational research to establish the DPP-LI's effectiveness in real world settings [1113]. The DPP-LI has been successfully translated into various settings to include rural and urban communities [1416], health centers [1720], community centers, churches, and senior care facilities [21–24]. The DPP-LI has also been translated into many ethnic/racial populations, such as Latinos [25, 26], Native Americans [27], and African-Americans [21, 22, 24].…”
