“…The first paper (Imre, 2016) enlightens some of the current topics that require interdisciplinary contributions. The focus is on three different sectors: (a) energy production (impact of technologies for both fossil and renewable energy sources, considering in particular landfill gas and geothermal energy, and their co-utilisation with the various renewable sources); (b) biology and soil science (with reference to municipal waste and polluted soil, from their evolution with decomposition and microbe biodegradation, to the pollution mitigation and remedial measures); and (c) the broad class of difficult problems associated with fine particle erosion, slope stability and earthquake effects in urban areas and on infrastructures.…”
