Abstract:Introduction: Several theories regarding the etiology of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) provoke challenges in defining the exact pathology of the disorder. Among these theories, the most recurring theories were the monoamine hypothesis, cytokine hypothesis, and endocrine factors.
