What do individuals with schizophrenia need to increase their well-being

Abstract: The aim of this qualitative study was to deepen the knowledge of how individuals with schizophrenia themselves describe what they need in order to increase their well-being in everyday life. Seven patients were interviewed. “…Based on previous research it was hypothesized that the number and types of health-care needs in BD would be similar to schizophrenia and would be associated with patient-functioning, symptom-severity and QOL. Since some differences between patients’ and caregivers’ evaluation of needs has been reported earlier[9,10], health-care needs were assessed both from the perspective of patients and their relatives.
