Abstract: Objectives Lumbar flexion-relaxation (FR) is a well-known phenomenon that can reliably be seen in normal subjects but not in most chronic low back pain (CLBP) patients. Neblett et al [ 9 ] postulated that the impaired flexion relaxation reflex and the restricted lumbar range of motion in a group of young and middle age back pain patients were related to previously performed surgery causing extensive damage such as muscle injury, scaring, and degeneration.
