The transition to solar energy adoption emerges as a dual solution for climate change and economic growth. This study comprehensively explores the intricate relationship between solar adoption and regional economies, focusing on key players like China, the EU, and the US. Notably, positive correlations between solar adoption, GDP growth, and employment rates are illuminated. However, certain gaps exist in understanding the potential impacts on wages and consumption patterns within these economies. Employing a comprehensive index and rigorous regression models, this study provides robust evidence that underlines the significant economic benefits associated with solar energy adoption. Such findings hold valuable implications for policymakers and stakeholders committed to sustainable growth. By leveraging the untapped potential of solar energy, nations can tailor strategies that not only contribute to environmental preservation but also spur economic prosperity. In conclusion, this study reinforces the interconnectedness between solar energy integration and regional economic performance. By recognizing the complex interplay between these factors, policymakers are better equipped to steer their countries towards a more sustainable and economically resilient future. The insights gained contribute to the ongoing dialogue surrounding renewable energy adoption, emphasizing its role in shaping prosperous and ecologically balanced societies.

O setor de energia fotovoltaica cresceu significativamente nos últimos anos como alternativa à produção de energia limpa, mas a implantação e operação dessa matriz energética geram impactos socioeconômicos tanto positivos quanto negativos. O presente artigo tem por objetivo analisar, por meio de algoritmo de inteligência cognitiva e estatística, o grau de interesse das pessoas quanto aos descritores que retratam as relevantes implicações socioeconômicas associadas à instalação de usinas solares e à produção de energia solar. Para tal, como procedimento metodológico, foram utilizados dois processos de busca de dados, ambos realizados através da ferramenta Cafe da plataforma CAPES. Por meio dessa busca, os impactos foram listados e cinco descritores capazes de sintetizá-los foram definidos. Em seguida, um algoritmo de inteligência cognitiva foi usado para analisar os níveis de interesse, considerando os dados de janeiro de 2010 a janeiro de 2020, extraídos de bases de dados do tipo TREND DATA, definindo-se um escore de 0 a 100 para classificar certo descritor em determinado período de tempo. Os resultados foram apresentados em dois gráficos, sendo o primeiro, um gráfico que aponta os índices mensais de interesse nos descritores, e o segundo mostra o nível médio mensal de interesse para cada descritor. Conclui-se que os descritores mais citados em divulgações da mídia digital considerada foram o aumento da geração de emprego, a promoção de desenvolvimento e infraestrutura e o aumento do crescimento econômico. Por outro lado, aqueles descritores menos citados por essas divulgações foram aumento dadisputa por terra e aumento da tarifa de energia.

This study addresses the critical gap in literature caused by previous qualitative studies on PV adoption focusing primarily on households, which have limited access to specific industry sectors across different countries. As far as we know, no other research has investigated the manufacturing and industrial firms’ perspective on Renewable energy and, specifically, PV adaptation in Türkiye. We use a qualitative semi-structured survey approach accommodated in Turkish Organized Industrial Zones. According to the interviews carried out within the scope of this study, an increase in electricity prices and a decrease in the payback period by PV installment are seen as the most critical drivers of PV adoption in the manufacturing sector. Energy security concerns and climate change policies also help increase the pace of PV adaptation. One of the biggest challenges in PV adoption seems to be technical challenges due to the limited capacity of the transformer, bureaucratic problems due to PV applications, supply side problems due to long wait times by the suppliers, knowledge and information problems, architectural and space problem that are also linked to the legal constraints and financial difficulties due to the lack of access to credit due to the macroeconomic situation of the country.
